Saint Francis University’s non-residential Summer Pre-College Research Programs give rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and incoming SFU freshmen the opportunity to work alongside faculty mentors in hands-on research experiences.

From science and healthcare to the arts and environment, students can dive into projects such as:
Nanoscience Exploration
June 8–12, 2026
Using Mechanochemistry to Advance Green (Sustainable) Chemistry
June 8–12, 2026 and/or June 15–19, 2026
Aldol Condensation
June 1–5, 2026 and/or June 8–12, 2026
The Effects of Training, Enrichment, and Socialization on the Well-being of Shelter Cats
June 15-19 and/ or June 22-26, 2026
Kindergarten and First Grade Teachers’ Perceptions of Handwriting and Fine Motor Skills in Their Students
June–early August 2026
(On-campus sessions in June and late July/early August; remote work during implementation phase)
Planting and Maintaining the Therapeutic Gardens at Maple Heights Rehab Center
Mid-June through the end of July 2026
(Typically one weekday morning per week; flexible scheduling)

$100 participation fee
Non-residential (students provide transportation)
