Join Dr. Clachar (Spanish), Dr. Merry (Biology) and Dr. Bintrim (English) for an information session to learn about a great service opportunity this summer at the Mission of Mercy dental clinic in Allentown, PA. On June 1-3, we will lead a delegation of students to MOM-n-PA, a massive, transformative healthcare mission during which 1,000 volunteers provide free dental services to 1,400 or more under-insured Pennsylvanians. Most students serve as lay volunteers, but those with EMT certifications or other professional credentials can play more specialized roles in the clinic. Students with a second language can serve as much-needed translators. Non-medical majors can serve in many areas. SFU will provide housing and transportation from our Loretto campus, along with support from our three faculty throughout the event. Students may be able to use their time at the clinic toward their program or professional school requirements.
