The Saint Francis University Student Government Association (SGA) welcomes you to our vibrant learning community here in Loretto, Pennsylvania!  The SGA’s mission is to serve as the voice of the undergraduate student body by providing representation, services, and advocacy within the SFU experience.  It is within our primary goals to cultivate strong student leadership, to build connections between students, faculty, and administration, and to consistently enhance our campus community through collaboration and advocacy.  The SGA is your personal advocate and champion within the student life experience at SFU.   Check out our official website to learn more. 

 

We are reaching out to you today to inform you of two very exciting opportunities offered exclusively to new incoming first-year students such as yourselves! 

 

1.    The SGA Student Leadership Fellowship program – each year the SGA extends three (3) $1,000 fellowship awards to worthy incoming freshmen who desire to engage within the leadership structure at SFU to sharpen their skills and abilities.  Students will represent their class in the SGA and complete a brief service project to build campus connections and confidence.  Only incoming first-year freshmen students may apply for the award online HERE

 

 

2.    The SFU Emerging Leaders program – each year the Center for Student Engagement identifies twelve (12) incoming freshmen who have exemplified leadership and service in their high schools and hometown communities and have a strong desire to refine their skills.  The SFU Emerging Leaders program is coordinated by the SFU Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).   Freshmen students may apply online to be selected for this prestigious group by clicking HERE  

 

We strongly encourage you to complete these two applications as soon as possible, as both programs are limited in availability and are very popular among new incoming students each year.  If you are interested in either the Emerging Leaders program or the SGA Leadership Fellowship, please submit your online application and all accompanying documents by 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2026
